New Media in design and day-to-day life

New Media has tremendous impacts on how we design and how we live our daily lives.
Starting out with design, New media helped us do many things:

1- Save time: New media gave us the opportunity to make better work than we used to have before and in less time. eg: designing almost anything that is printed
2- Do the work once: New media helped us do the work once and modify it or reproduce it or even print it as many times as we want, and in no time. eg: changing the mood of a photograph: in the past doing this was difficult… they basically had to shoot it again. with new media such as digital photography and computer softwares, it is as easy as clicking a button.
As for the production of it and the printing, it is really easy… all you have to do is set the number of copies to be made and the machine does it.
3- Making design more fun: with the advancement of internet technology and animated media, design started to be more fun and interactive.
4- Animation: before, animation was drawn frame by frame… today, softwares do the work a lot faster. 

 

As for the day-to-day life, new media made us a big favor:
1- Video Games: Video games fills our times of boredom in a fun way. not to forget that these games are also nicely designed with the use of new media such as softwares to create characters that almost look real…
2- Animation: made movies more fun to watch with all the visual effects involved.
3- Communication: new media made communication faster and clearer… eg: tv, internet, chatting or talking through internet facilities, phone conferences…
